The Economatica newsroom

Economatica has operated its own newsroom since 2018. Our journalists are employed by Economatica S.A., the same company that has built and maintained our financial database since 1986.

All content published under the Economatica byline is reported, written and edited by our own staff, and is owned by Economatica S.A.

The newsroom is led by Gabriel Ponte. All staff are employed by Economatica S.A., registered in Brazil under company number (CNPJ) 26.345.998/0001-50, founded in 1986 and headquartered in São Paulo, with offices in seven countries across the Americas.

WHAT WE PUBLISH

Original content

  • Market flashes. Written in real time by the Mover team, from data we collect and process ourselves: commodities, foreign exchange, indices, rates and equities. We also cover the geopolitical agenda and, occasionally, policy measures.
  • Earnings against consensus. Quarterly results for most listed companies in Brazil and the leading US companies, measured against market consensus.
  • Earnings calls. Coverage of earnings calls from selected companies.
  • Proprietary analytical layer. Per-document relevance (normal or urgent), materiality and sentiment classification, and tagging of the securities affected, using a model developed in-house by Mover.
  • Monetary policy and regulation. Coverage of decisions by the Federal Reserve, Copom and other central banks, as well as CVM regulations, with an assessment of the impact on rates, foreign exchange and Brazil's main assets.
  • Daily analysis. Our team's reading of the trading day, at the open and at the close, published in Mover Economatica at 10:15 a.m. and 5:15 p.m. (Brasília time). It includes coverage of the main sell-side calls in Brazil, the economic agenda and company announcements.
  • Asset managers. Monthly assessment of the positioning of Brazil's leading multi-market fund managers.
HOW WE WORK

Editorial standards

Every piece of information we publish carries an identified source. Every market figure is traceable to the Economatica database, with documented methodology and adjustment history, the same standard that has underpinned our data since 1986.

News and analysis are different things, and we keep them apart: reported fact and house interpretation are clearly marked as such.

CORRECTIONS

When we get it wrong

INDEPENDENCE

Editorial independence

The newsroom reports to editorial leadership, not to the commercial side of the business. Editorial coverage is not for sale, and sponsored content, where it exists, is labelled as such.
