Economatica MCP: Proprietary Financial News for AI

Economatica introduced Economatica MCP as a way to access its proprietary financial-intelligence database through AI assistants. Initially launched for Claude, the MCP server lets customers ask market questions in natural language within an AI environment they already use for analysis and research.

The launch built on four decades of financial-data infrastructure used by asset managers, banks, brokers, consultancies, investor-relations teams, universities and research groups. A conversational layer makes that depth available to questions, workflows and reports.

What changes in an analyst's day

The difference is practical: a morning briefing that required multiple screens can start with one question. An analyst can ask about a portfolio or company in natural language instead of assembling the context manually.

For example, a manager might ask, “What were VALE3's most relevant events over the past seven days, and what is the current sentiment of the news?” Economatica MCP can bring together CVM filings, analyst revisions, Mover Economatica newsroom coverage and sector news in a single response.

Proprietary news and CVM documents

The first module focuses on market news and events. It combines Mover Economatica's proprietary newsroom, aggregation from more than 50 local and international sources, coverage of more than 80 economic indicators and official documents filed with Brazil's securities regulator, the CVM.

Items carry useful metadata such as tickers, sector, subject, publication time, source, impact classification and sentiment. Customers can ask about company events, macroeconomic releases, regulatory filings or news associated with an asset, sector or theme.

They can request the most relevant events in a sector over the past 24 hours, summarize company filings, connect recent news with economic indicators or review the sentiment around a portfolio. MCP makes Economatica data available as context for AI agents while retaining the underlying data's methodology and governance.

Reports at the speed of a question

An analyst can request an earnings summary, an event review or a synthesis of recent news and receive a structured first draft for review and deeper analysis. This shifts time toward interpretation, validation, judgment and decision-making. The analyst remains responsible for the final assessment.

Teams can also structure recurring briefings, morning calls, research reports, portfolio monitoring, risk alerts and sector reviews using Economatica data through supported AI workflows.

Sector sentiment in natural language

Another application is an aggregated view of sector sentiment. Users can compare recent Brazilian-market news across sectors and identify positive, negative or neutral signals from the flow of articles and events.

Instead of reading dozens of items one by one, a research team can ask which sectors show the strongest negative pressure, which have positive signals, which themes dominate coverage and which assets appear most often.

This is useful for research, asset management, risk, compliance, investor relations and trading teams that need a structured, traceable starting point for analysis.

How MCP fits with other Economatica products

Economatica MCP complements the Platform and Terminal. The Platform remains the full environment for querying, comparing, screening and visually exploring financial data. The Terminal supports live market monitoring with quotes, news and other functions for institutional desks. MCP provides a conversational interface to the same broader ecosystem through AI assistants and agents.
